Objectives
The objective of this call is to identify a list of potential research topics that should be covered by the activities of the ERCIM CoreGRID WG during the next two years. Anyone who would like to participate to the WG (call for memberships will be issued in October) has to propose a list of research topics that represent research challenges in the area of Grid, Service & Cloud computing. The selection of the topics will be carried out by the WG core members taking into account the novelty and the ability to gather a critical mass of researchers in Europe who are willing to work together to face the research challenges. Send your proposal
To do so, we need to have the following information to be able to consider a research topic: - Title (1 line max)
- Research topic leader:
- Keywords
- Abstract (1 page max)
- Identification of the research challenges
- International positioning
- The main key research EU groups/Institutions/Universities that could be involved
It is expected that around 10 research topics will be selected for this call. Depending of the success of the activities carried out by the WG, further calls can be issued.
Submission should be sent to Frédéric Desprez (Frederic.Desprez@inria.fr) no later than October 31. Once the research topics selected, a call for memberships will be issued by mid of November. Answers to Frequently Asked Questions
A1) Anybody can send a topic proposal. It will then be evaluated. A2) We expect the topic proposer and topic leader to be the same. A3) The topic leader (and proposer) represents several institutions (that have collaborated to propose it). A4) It is expected that the topic leader, once it is selected, will lead the topic including its management. A5) A topic leader can lead only one topic (but he/she can be involved in other ones) A6) We do not expect a topic to involve only one institution. These topics are made to get a close interaction between institutions within Europe (following the success of the CoreGRID NoE) A7) One institution can participate to several topics, but it has to be active in all topics it is involved in.
